It's been a season for weddings. And what a beautiful season it is.

Each time we rise to welcome the bride, I wait for just that one moment when the man sees his wife-to-be for the first time as they open the church doors. The exact time he (probably) thinks to himself, "Wow....this is it" and smiles that gorgeous smile of knowing that his life is just about to get that much greater.

....I hope to see that smile for me one day. It'll be perfect.

And while I can't take all the credit for looking at weddings from this poignant perspective (cue 27 dresses), I can perhaps say that I interpret that look of love to be one that is passionate, deep yet vibrant - a love that goes beyond the look in her eyes, and is bold enough to weather whatever storm and rejoice in whatever joy comes its way.

Bold, steady, unchanging, unconditional love, designed in the image of God's love for us.

The Bead Post...Literally!

Like literally a post about traipsing around Perth looking for beads!

Okay, maybe not so much traipsing because we did our research before heading to Perth, and ended up with two places in mind - Benjamin's Crafts & The Bead Post.

Our first stop was Benjamin's Crafts, we were really excited about this because the website showed such promise of millions and millions in bead collections.

We went there the day we touched down in Perth and even waited outside for it to open! :)

But what showed such promise also would've taken a lot out of our pocket. Most of their items you could pretty much find in a lot of beading places elsewhere but they were made of very good quality, hence the hefty prices - in any case, we decided to get some items we needed, and headed out the door.

Benjamin's Crafts

Our next outing a couple of days later was a gem of a find! We arrived early (again) and had to get some coffee around the corner from The Bead Post, which turned out to be pretty yummylicious! I had a Mocha made from Belgian chocolate - nothing but ooh-la-la!

Just around the right time, when the chocolate's all seeped into our system, we got off our butts and headed into the shop...and I'll let the pics take you on the rest of the tour now :)

I love all the bright colours of the candy-looking-resin beads, well folks, that's what you have to look forward to in our next batch of Choobs Trinkets coming up!

Savour the delicious colours now and we hope, one day, it'll end up on some part of your body :) And if you're ever in Perth, and want to go bead shopping - head down to The Bead Shop in Fremantle - you'll not just love the shop, you'll love the markets, the quaint boutiques and eating fish & chips by the jetty :) That's what made this bead trip so fun!

So keep a lookout and our up and comings :) In the meantime, we'll put up more stuff from our existing line. Here's to bead-trippin'!

Yes, you heard us right! We just turned one!
...and it was one of the best celebrations ever :)

Before we embark on this seemingly long post, I'd like to thank EVERYONE! yes, YOU! for patroning us in this one year. It doesn't matter whether its only been once or many times, thank you from the bottom most of our hearts because you've helped us get where we are today.

I'm thankful, grateful and proud to say that we're doing well and it's time to think and plan for the future! So thank you thank you thank you! *muacks*

To make this successful first year of business that little extra special, we decided to throw a ourselves a little birthday "Tea Party"!

We would've loved to have invited all of you but because it was held at my sisters' private house of residence and to respect her privacy, we only extended invites to personal friends and family. The result - a great time of chatting, eating, trinket showcasing and great promotions for all our buyers :)

Mum is really the all-time champion of making chunky bracelets in this household, hands down! This combo really did do it for me, with its electric blue bead galore coupled with a seafest of oceanic charms.... :)

A must if you're a lover of the ocean...it reminds me of the unlimited mysteries out on the vast blue sea. It houses over 1 million living creatures...and no one can quite fathom how many more are left undiscovered...amazing.

I'm sure if the scientists did find them, it would make this bracelet a whole lot chunkier :)

Something about this one reminded us of the Memoirs of a Geisha. Perhaps its the Oriental patterns on the beads or the flowers that look very much like the sakura.

My guess? I think it's the dramatic contrasts of the colours. In my minds eye, I can imagine the young Geisha's passionate dance - the dramatic movements, the redness of her lips and the bursts of rhythm.

I've always loved the sea - the breeze, the smell of the ocean, the sandcastles, the kites. Growing up, I had a pretty impressive collection of seashells, little keepsakes from my trips to the beach. I can't help but love this piece, for it's lovely colour (notice how the shell beads take on different colours at different angles) and for the seashells that remind so much of the beach.

The earrings are equally exquisite, the crystal clear beads playing off the sun's rays.
